Blue notes and bohemian glamour – the “Dada Bar + Lounge” sets the
stage for the Hong Kong International Jazz Festival as its official
jazz club
From October 1 to 15, guests will be able to relax back in Dada's
plush designer landscape with a signature cocktail, while savoring a
succession of smooth musical maestros, from established Grammy winners
to soulful Japanese strummers.
Jazz Photo Exhibition (16 Sep - 30 Oct)
A Jazz-themed photography exhibition by Briton William Ellis and Hong
Kong's own musical siren and photographer, Elaine Liu, will be up at
the gallery in Dada from September 16 until the end of October,
setting the mood for things to come. Ellis is recognized for his work
shooting front-of-house and backstage at legendary jazz clubs and
festivals across Africa, Europe and the Americas.
Jazz Performance
As the festival's official jazz club, Dada will set the stage for
Grammy-winning Brit, Tim Garland, whose exclusive workshop on October
13 will be followed by the first ever performance from his Lighthouse
Trio in the city. Garland shot to stardom playing saxophone, bass
clarinet and flute with Chick Corea, and won this year's Grammy for
the best instrumental jazz CD. On October 2, the internationally
renowned Yosuke Onuma will also be in the Dada spotlight with just his
heartthrob good looks and a guitar for a hip Asian take on modern
jazz.
